These Tourist Attractions in Kahtmandu valley  include Bouddhanath Stupa, Swyombhunath Stupa or Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Besides the attractions which are enlisted in World Heritage sites of UNESCO, there are number of tourist’s attractions in this valley.

Now, let's see these Tourist Attractions in Kahtmandu valley one by one in detail.

Bouddhanath Stupa

Located 11km northeast from the central Kathmandu, Bouddhanath Stupa is the world’s biggest stupa and has been one of the prime tourist’s attractions in Nepal. The Kathmandu valley Sightseeing Tour is incomplete without visiting or exploring Bouddhanath Stupa. This Spherical stupa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Nepal in Kathmandu Valley.

The serene premises of Bouddhanath Stupa, the Buddhists prayers, Thankas, Souvenirs, the fragrance of incense are marvelous to explore around. Besides, the picturesque houses at the surrounding and the availability of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner make this visit to Bouddhanath stupa more convenient and memorable.

Kathmandu Durbar Square/ Kumari

Closer to the Central Kathmandu, Thamel, and Kathmandu Durbar Square is a historical museum telling the history of art and architecture from the ancient time. Actually, at the moment, Kathmandu Durbar Square is on the way to renovation after it was hugely affected by April Earthquake, 2015.

The massive Vairab Idol, Kumari Ghar and Kumari, the living goddess are the prime attractions to the tourists in Kathmandu Durbar Square. The serene premises and the availability if modern and luxurious cafes and restaurants making Kathmandu Durbar Square more fascinating these days. Specially, it looks magnificent in the evening.

Swyombhunath Stupa/ Monkey Temple

Swyombhunath Stupa is one of the most incredibel Tourist Attractions in Kahtmandu valley. A massive Stupa representing the religion, art and architecture from ancient Lichhabi period in the history of Nepal, Swoyambhunath Stupa or Monkey Temple is one of the dominant tourist’s attractions in Kathmandu Valley. It is located atop hill to the west of the central Kathmandu. It is around 3 km away from Thamel. The accesses are both vehicles and the legs. It is 20 minutes walk from Thamel.

The deep and sublime forest around the stupa fascinates huge numbers of people for fresh air and meditation.

The monkeys in the forest make this stupa more natural and eco-friendly. Sometimes, these monkeys turn to be mischievous if they see some food carrying in your hand.

Buddhists regard Swyombhunath Stupa/ Monkey Temple ( UNESCO World Heritage Site) as one of the most  sacred sites.

It is not only a tourist attraction as a UNESCO World Heritage but also for the people who love jogging and aerobics because the forest provides fresh and cool air. People also find it as a vantage point to view wntire Kathmandu Valley.

The complex consists of a massive stupa, a variety of shrines and temples, some dating back to the Licchavi period. A Tibetan monastery, museum and library are more recent additions. The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. Between them, the number one (in Devanagari script) is painted in the fashion of a nose. There are also shops, restaurants and hostels. The site has two access points: a long staircase leading directly to the main platform of the temple, which is from the top of the hill to the east; and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the south-west entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra.

Pashupatinath Temple

Pashupatinath Temple is one of the world’s famous Hindu pilgrimage site in Kathmandu valley. The god of the gods, Shiva, is worshipped in this Temple. Shivaratri is the greatest festival to worship Shiva in this temple. Thousands of pilgrims come to visit Pashupatinath Temple during Shivaratri from India and other countries.

Pashupatinath Temple is located at the bank of holy Bagmati River. The river was polluted in the past due to overpopulation and urbanization but at the time, it is getting cleaner. Several rituals are performed at the bank of this river. The cremation is the most striking thing to observe at this river premises .

The Pashupatinath Temple is magnificent piece of art and architecture representing ancient civilization, history and culture of Nepal.

Patan is more religious site than a historical and cultural. Patan is famous for beautiful Krishna Temple/Mandir . The arts, architecture, stone and wood carvings, idols, museums etc are lively to read the ancient history and civilization. Every nook and corner of Patan is magnificent with installment of carvings and idols of deities.

Patan, one of the most significant identities of Kathmandu and entire Nepal is truly a blessed city to visit and explore. There are several things which are still unexplored and waiting your arrival. The cultural and religious fairs and performances are life enhancing in Patan.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

The most oldest city in the valley , Bhaktapur is a must visit sightseeing site in Kathmandu Valley. Without visiting Bhaktapur,  Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour is considered to be incomplete.

Bhaktapur is famous for pottery, stone and wood carvings, museums, palaces, temples, fairs, tea and coffe, souvenirs and most importantly, Curd, Juju Dhou.

Bhaktapur is neighboring city to Kathmandu and shares several cultures, business, hospitals, universities and the like. Relatively, Bhaktapure is the most serene and calm among all in the Kathmandu valley. Sue to overpopulation and skyscrapers, Patan and Kathmandu are getting much too crowded and polluted.
