Kathmandu Day Tour
Kathmandu Day Tour is a significant visit to UNESCO World Heirtage Sites. These popular heritage sites in Kathmandu include Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyombhunatha Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Bouddhanath stupa.
Kathmandu Day Tour first takes us to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Massive Kal Vairab statue, the palace representing ancient history and civilization of Nepal, museum, Kumari, the living goddess and serene surrounding are the major attractions of Kathmandu Durbar Square. The wood carvings, magnificent art and architecture also tempt the tourists to explore it.
Swyombhunatha Stupa located atop hill is another highlight of Kathmandu Day Tour. This massive stupa is entirely dedicated to Gautam Buddha. Buddhists followers find Swyombhunath Temple/ Stupa one of the world’s holy sites to visit.
The temple or stupa is surrounded by lush forest releasing fresh air to the visitors. It is also a perfect place for jogging, meditation, exercise and yoga. A large numbers of city dwellers are found jogging and doing various kinds of exercises in the morning and evening. It is 20 minutes walk form Thamel.
Another interesting thing about Swyombhunath Temple is that we have a huge number of monkeys jumping from one to another tree. Monkey lovers love to love monkeys at Swyombhunath temple.
Bouddhanath, the largest stupa in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Kathmandu valley is 7 km away towards north east from Thamel. This massive stupa is located at Bouddha in Kathmandu. The calm surrounding, the paintings and Thankas, souvenirs, and most significantly, the huge and unbelievable Bouddhanath Stupa is absolutely fabulous.
Kathmandu Day tour is incomplete without visiting Pashupatinath Temple. Pashupatinath Temple is a worldwide popular Hindu Pilgrimage site located at the bank of Bagmati river. The temple representing ancient Hindu religious site offers beautiful art and architecture. The cremation of Hindus at the bank of Bagmati river is a thing to explore and observe.
Getting to the Heritage Sites
We will be with private vehicle and city guide. You have to follow the rules and regulations strictly while visiting heritage sites in the Kathmandu valley.
You will be dropped to one heritage site and again transferred to other by the same vehicle.
You have breakfast at the same hotel where you stay and lunch will be during our visit in the afternoon. We end Kathmandu Day tour between 4-5 in the evening and have dinner with cultural show.
You have to have a small backpack or any type of bag to keep your belongings like water bottle, cell phone, camera, some snacks (if you want), map, eyeglasses and the like. Please do not forget to prepare two pieces of medical masks because Kathmandu has been terribly dusty and smoky. Due to which it is even called Dustmandu.
Prepare some Nepali currency for your meal in the afternoon and other expenses like shopping the souvenirs during the visit. Or USD also works in many places.
