 Everest Chola Pass Trek-18 days begins with Kathmandu Sightseeing which takes us to UNESCO World Heritage Sites within the valley. Then, we take a short scenic flight to Lukla. Lukla itself is one of the major attractions of this trek.

We spend the first night at Phakding, After Phakding, we slowly trek to Namche getting into Sagarmatha National Park ( UNESCO World Heritage Site). Sagarmatha National Park  is an abode to a great variety of Himalayan flora fauna. We visit Tibetan Market, Sherpa Cultural Museum and Hotel Everest View which offers us magnificent view of Mt. Everest.

After our Acclamatization at Namche, we continue our trek to Gokyo Valley through Machhermo. Gokyo Lake, entire Gokyo Valley and Gokyo ri are major attractions of Gokyo. Gokyo ri offers us dazzling views of giant peaks of Everest region including Mt. Everest.

Now, we head for Chola Pass. Chola pass is one of the highest passes in the world. The trail is adventurous and challenging. After crossing Cho La Pass, we trek to Gorekh Shep via Lobuche. We climb Kalapatthar and celebrate breathtaking views of mountain peaks. We trek to Everest Base Camp and capture mesmerizing summits.

Backtracking, we trek down to Lobuche, Namche and Lukla. We take a short and scenic flight to Kathmandu and end our trek.

Accommodation

We will offer three star accommodation in Kathmandu . If you want to upgrade the accommodation, you have to pay some extra. Mountain accommodation during the trekking days will be very ordinary and basic. All accommodation will be on twin sharing basis. Single supplementary has to pay extra.  We spend the night at lodges and guesthouses. We occasionally get attached bathrooms. eNepaltour Pvt. Ltd. tries its best to book the A grade accommodation in the mountain prior to the trekking unlike other populated regions.

Meals

We provide only breakfast in Kathmandu and during the trekking days. In the trekking days, you pick up the item mentioned in the menu at the lodge or guesthouse and you will enjoy it. Sometimes, in a big group, you may have buffet service too. This takes place especially in peak season (Sept-Nov).  Breakfast will be provided at the guesthouse where we spent the night, lunch somewhere in the middle of the next destination and dinner at the guesthouse where we stay tonight. We offer you typical organic Nepali cushion which are really amazing. One item of meal costs between3-9 USD ijn this trekking route. 

Best Time to Travel

Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and spring (March to May) are the best time for Trekking. The weather is delightful and pleasant during autumn. The mountain views are astonishing.

The hills are wrapped with beautiful flowering rhododendron during spring. Also majority of the trekkers find Spring best time for Everest Chola Pass Trek-18 days since they love to see flowering rhododendron.

Winter( Dec-Feb) will be very harsh due to cold and cloudy weather which hide the mountain peaks.

Summer will be too hot for some trekkers. Heavy rainfall occurs and disturbs the transportation and even walk in the mountain.

Physical Condition and Experience

Those who can walk 4-7 hours in the mountain can do this trek.  Everest Chola PassTrek-18 days  is a challenging  trek in Everest Region Trekking in Nepal . Regular exercise, jogging and short hiking enhance your stamina and confidence.  Prior trekking experience and technical skills are recommended for Everest Chola Pass Trek-18 days. These prior skills will be an asset for it.

Getting to the trailhead and Away

We fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. It is short 35 minutes flight.  Lukla is the beginning point of Everest Chola Pass Trek-18 days. We again end our Everest Chola Pass Trek-18 days at Lukla and take a scenic flight to Kathmandu. 

Threats and Safety

We do not really face such terrible threats during this trekking. However,  in few cases, we have to experience some slippery and steep trail. From Thangank, we head to cross Chola Pass, this part of trail is a bit challenging and slippery too. Frozen ice is sometimes a great threat to us. For this, you need to have treking poles and proper trekking or hiking boots. We do not face any glaciers and avalenches in Everest Chola Pass Trek-18 days. However, during winter, we will encounter with massive snow while crossing Chola Pass. So, it is not recommended to do Chola Pass Trek during winter in Nepla. Otherwise,  we will clebrate beautiful and pleasant and adventurous trek in the lap of mighty mountains. 

There are few cases the trekkers suffered from altitude sickness. It may be because dehydration and lack of stamina. Sometimes, we have the problem of  food poison too. Report it to you trekking leader or guide if you have any health inconveniences. You will immediately be rescued. Drink plenty of hot drinks and do not smoke in the higher elevation. Have balanced diet and have sound sleep.

Day 01 - Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport Kathmandu

Arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport [Kathmandu] and transfer to your hotel at kathmandu  stay overnight. 1Our representative will receive you at the airport and trasafer to the hotel. After you get refressed, we have a short orientation meeting introducing guide, porter and the description about the trip. We also prepare the necessary equipment. Be with 3 passport size photographs, passport and travel insurance. 

Day 02 - Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour and Preparation for the Trek

We begin our valley sightseeing after breakfast at around 8. This is a guided sightseeing. We have a van or car and a professional city guide.Our visit is to UNESCO World Heritage sites located withn the valley like Pashupatinath, Swyombbunath, Bouddhanath, Patan etc. We have lunch during our tour. After lunch we still continue our city tour and we end today's tour at around 4. In the evening, we can get the equipments that we require during the trek. 

Day 03 - Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft (Walking Distance: 8 KM) Duration: 3 hours

It is a short and scenic flight of 35 minutes. The take off takes place from Tribhuwan International Airport domestic. Sometimes, we have our flights disturbed due to unfavorable weather condition. For this we have to be patient. 

Upon our arrival at Lukla airport, we meet our entire team and alongwith porters and we begin trekkking to Phakding. Phakding is located at the lower elevation than Lukla. This trek today is on the flat and descent. Teahouse Overnight at Phakding. 

Day 04 - Trek from Phakding to Namche [3,440m/11,280ft] that takes 6 and a half hours. Teahouse overnight

We begin today's trek after breakfast. Today, we enter into Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site located at the highest elevation in the world. Jorsalle is the entry point where we get our National Park Entry checked. Then, the trail ascends to a suspension bridge. After suspension bridge, the trail is all the way up and steep and we finally gey Namche. Teahouse overnight at Namche. 

Day 05 - Acclimatization Day - Hike to Everest View Hotel (Walking Distance: 3-4 KM) Duration: 3-4 Hours

Acclamatization at Namche is very crucial. If we go quickly to the higher elevation in the mountain, we may get altitude sickness. Today, we take a walk around Namche , walk upto Hotel Everest view and also visit Sherpa International Museum. Besides, we explore beautiful Khumjung village. Teahouse overnight at Namche. 

Day 06 - Namche to Dole (4200m/13776ft) Duration: 5 hrs

Today, we divide the trail going to Everest Base Camp. We leave this trail and head to Dole. Now, we begin to climb. Rhododendron and juniper are dominant in today’s trekking. We also encounter with several high pasture lands and kharkas. Finally we get Dole where we get a few lodges and tea houses where we spend overnight. Twache and Kumbila are major highlighting views of todays trek. Overnight at teahouse at Dole.

Day 07 - Dole to Machhermo (4400m/14432ft) Duration: 5 hrs

We still enjoy pleasant juniper today. We encounter with several steep trails today while finally leads to Machhermo. Machhermo is the place where Yeti killed three yaks and it also attacked a Sherpa from the same village. Overnight at Teahouse at Machhermo.

Day 08 - Machhermo to Gokyo Lake (4700m/15416ft) Duration: 4 hrs

Today’s trek is relatively shorter and more pleasant. We climb the ridge and the ridge widens and offers the breathtaking views of Cho you (8201m). We greatly celebrate this view and further continue our trek to Gokyo. On the way, we view  Ngozumpa Glacier. The smaller lakes lead finally to Gokyo lake which is the most astounding one. Overnight at Teahouse at Gokyo.

Day 09: Gokyo Valley: Acclimatization and exploration day

We acclimatize today exploring this mesmerizing valley and the lakes. We basically enjoy the afternoon sitting in the sun by the Gokyo Lake and capture beautiful pictures. Overnight at guest house at Gokyo.

Day 10: Gokyo – Gokyo Ri (5,330 m/17,483 ft) – Tagnag, (4750 m/15,580 ft): 6km, 5-6 hrs

We rise up Early  and climb up to the Gokyo-Ri, for extraordinary view of Mahalangur Himalayan range, it takes around 2hrs climb to the top of the peak, providing a superb view of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawache & a great looking of Ngozumpa glacier a largest glacier in Nepal. Then, we have breakfast at Gokyo and continue our trekking to Tagnag. The trail from Gokyo to Tagnag is all the way flat. Overnight at guesthouse at Tangnag.

Day 11: Tagnag - Cho-la Pass (5367 m/17,604 ft) - Dzonglha (4830m/15,845ft): 14km, 9-10 hrs

Today, we have a  challenging trek to cross Cho La Pass. The trail is slippery sometimes, we need good trekking boots and trekking poles. Warm jackets, cap, sunglasses and gloves and socks are required for this pass. After crossing Cho La Pass, we arrive at Dzonglha. Overnight at guesthouse at Dzonglha.

Day 12: Dzonglha - Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 6km, 3-4 hrs

We continue our trek to Lobucge from Dzonglha. The trail is flat. We trek enjoying glaciers and mountain views. Overnight at guest house at Lobuche.

Day 13: Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5,160m/16,930ft) - Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft): Gorak Shep, 14km, 8-10 hrs

We today have to work a bit harder comparing to other days. We have to go to Everest Base Camp first then we get back to Gorekhshep for overnight stay. We witness magnificent views of giant peaks including Loatse, Nupse and other minor peaks. But in fact, we cannot capture Mt. Everest from Everest Base Camp.  Teahouse overnight at GorekhShep.

Day 14 - Gorakshep - Kala Pathar (5545m/18188ft) - Pheriche (4210m) (Distance: 13-14 KM) 7 Hours

Today, we climb Kalapatthar and celebrate stunning sunrise and awe-inspiring mountain views including Mt. Everest, Pumori and so on. It is windy at the top normally. We spend around 15 minutes at the top  of Kalapatthar and walk down to Gorekh Shep and trek down to Periche. Teahouse overnight at Periche

Day 15 - Pheriche to Namche (3440m/11283ft) (Walking Distance: 14-15 KM) Duration: 7 Hours

This trail all the way back to Namche. For this , we follow the heading to Tengboche and then Namche. We still enjoy our walk through Sagarmatha National Park. Teahouse Overnight at Namche.

Day 16 - Namche to Lukla (2800m/9184ft) (Walking Distance: 18-19 KM) Duration: 7 Hours

Today, we leave Namche, the gateway to Everest region. Gradually, we also say good bye to Sagarmatha National Park and finally arrive at Lukla. We celebrate our victory over this adventurous trek here at Lukla in the evening and look forward for the next day flight to Kathmandu.

Day 17 : Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu

This is a short and scenic flight of 35 minutes to Kathmandu from Lukla airport. Upon your arrival, our representative will be there and you will be transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18: Farewell

According to your international flight schedule, we drop you at the 2 hours earlier so that you will be able to catch up your scheduled flight. This is the day to say good bye to you but it doesn’t mean that you won’t come back to Nepal again.
