Ghorepani-Poonhill Horse Riding-10 days
Ghorepani-Poonhill Horse Riding is an excellent way to capture stunning sunrise and mountain panorama escaping a long and tiring steep Ulleri Uphill. We have found that most of the tourists who choose to go Poonhill and Ghorepani find Ulleri Uphill very tough task and exhausting too. Actually, Ghorepani is the modern form of Ghodepani. Ghode means Horse in Nepali. Ghorepani is popular for horse too.
Ghorepani-Poonhill Horse Riding offers an exhilarating opportunity to be at Poonhill and Ghorepani even for children and elderly people who cannot hike but still passionate to witness mesmerizing snow-fed peaks from Poonhill and Ghorepani.
Ghorepani Poonhill Horse Riding begins from Nayapool, after 1.30 hours drive from Pokhara. Before that, we drive or fly to Pokhara from Kathmandu. We have horse standby at Nayapool, Birethanti. We get our horse and begin to climb the country setting via traditional settlements and picturesque landscapes. Horse Riding itself is an adventurous task but what we do here is there will a care taker of the horse and the rider. So, there will not be any risks and threats during this ride to Ghorepani.
Sitting on the horseback viewing deep forest, natural water falls, and astonishing landscapes, meeting friendly people and acknowledging their culture and lifestyle will be the experience for the lifetime.
Poonhill and Ghorepani are popular mountain viewpoints in Annapurna region in Nepal. We celebrate incredible view of mountain peaks include Annapurna-I, Annapurna-IV, Annapurna-South, Gangapurna, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre( Fishtail) and many more alluring peaks. If we want to climb Poonhill, we can do it our horse and come back to Ghorepani.
And on Backtracking to Ghandruk via Tadapani, it is optional to hire horse because some tourists want hiking to Ghandruk and Nayapool. If you want horse to carry till the end of this trekking, it is ok. Or, you can skip it from Ghorepani. It means, you hike down to Tadapani and Ghandruk for 2-3 days. We generally get jeep or local bus from Ghandruk to escape dusty road walk till Nayapool.
