Nepal Trekking and Nepal tour are spectacular ways to connect with Nature.  Nepal and its natural beauties is god gifted. Similarly, the Himalayas, summits, waterfalls, lakes, rivers, historical sites, cultural sites, and flora and faunas are magnificent. This article, now, a complete guide to Nepal Trekking helps you to experience all these highlights in the way you like.

The exciting and adventurous activities in Nepal like jungle safari, river rafting, bunjee jumping, paragliding, canoeing, cannoning, avia-ultra light flight, mountain flight, helicopter tour around the Himalayas, mountain biking and the like lure thousands of tourist from the globe every year.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal including Pashupatinath Temple, Swyombhunath Temple, Kathmandu/ Hanuman Doka Durbar Square, Bouddhanath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and national Parks including Chitwan National Park and Sagarmatha National Park are also the prominent highlights of Nepal Trekking and Nepal Tour

The diverse culture of ethnic groups, celebrations, hospitable people of the mountain, homestay in Nepal, volunteering in Nepal have also become significant part of the people’s life who come to visit Nepal.

Nepal Trekking takes us to the mountain trail, which is virgin, waiting to be beaten by your foot and your hiking or trekking boots, experience the ethnic people, witness the mountain peaks and as a whole having exhilarating moment in life. The trail is through lush forest and befriending with natural beauties.

Basically, Nepal Trekking is of two types. They are: Teahouse Trekking and Camping Trekking. Teahouse trekking is such trekking that the accommodation and the food are provided by either guesthouse or teahouse. In this trekking, we do not carry the equipment for food and accommodation. This trekking is relatively more convenient than Camping Trekking.

Unlike this, Camping Trekking is such trekking, also known as classical trekking; we spend the night in tent and cook the food ourselves. Or we have to hire cook to food for us during the trekking days in Nepal in mountain. This trekking is costly and difficult to organize comparing to Tea house trekking. However, this is the most natural form of trekking in Nepal. Now, lets talk about the basic components of a complete guide to Nepal Trekking

Nepal Trekking Accommodation

Nepal Trekking Accommodation is very normal type of accommodation in the mountain. But in the cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nagarkot, Chitwan and other facilitated cities offer luxury or star accommodation. Basically, during the Nepal trekking days, we have ordinary accommodation. But it doesn’t mean that the beddings and room will be filthy. No, doubt, we have neat and clean bathrooms, which are normally outside, well-washed white bed sheets, good lighting and so on.

If some trekkers really want luxury accommodation during the Nepal trekking days, they may get these days since every trekking region has established luxurious hotels and guest houses. But, to be frank, hard to get it.

Nepal Trekking Hot Shower and Communication/ WiFi

Most of the trekking region in Nepal are getting developed with communication facility these days. Nepal Annapurna Trekking region, Nepal Everest Trekking Region, Nepal Langtang Trekking Region, Nepal Upper Dolpo Trekking Region and even Nepal Manaslu Trekking Region are accessed with communication facility. Most of the trekking trails in Nepal Annapurna, Nepal Langtang and Nepal Everest region have good Wifi and telephone facility. One can get access of network by installing local SIM card: either NTC or Ncell. They can purchase the certain datapack for the trek in Nepal in the mountain. For Wi Fi use at teahouse or guesthouse in the mountain, we have pay some extra money like 200-400 Nepali rupees. But in the major cities like Nepal Kathmandu, Nepal Pokhara, Chitwan and Nagarkot, we do not need to pay any extra for Wifi.

Yes, we get hot shower during the trekking days in the mountain in Nepal. But do not expect hot shower everyday in the mountain. Annapurna, Everest and Langtang region provide hot shower all the time but remote and restricted area trekking in Nepal like Upper Dolpo, Manaslu and Upper Mustang may not have hot shower all the time. Instead they can offer you a bucket of warm water to wash your body. For each hot shower, you have to make some extra payment like 300-500 Nepali rupees.

Nepal Trekking Drinking Water

Nepal’s mountain has plenty of sources of water. However, all sorts of water in the mountain is not safe to drink. So, either we have to use purifying tablets, or get bottled water. Or we also can get boiled water at teahouse or guesthouse. Some companies provide a water purifying machine for a group so that the trekkers do not need extra money for getting water in the mountain.

Here, we do not recommend you to drink water found in the mountain. Getting bottled water is the best ways to protect you in the mountain.

Nepal Trekking Food

In camping trekking, we cook the food we like. But in teahouse trekking, we order the food item mentioned in the menu and they will offer us. Normally, Nepali food items like Lentil, rice, cereals, curry, bread are popular in them mountain. But, major trekking regions like Everest, Annapurna, Langtang and other regions offer the food as your preference in the mountain. Normally, one food item costs between $ 3- 9. or sometimes more than that. These food items will be very organic since they use all the ingredients of local products.

Nepal Trekking Best Time/ Season of the Year

Nepal Trekking can be done round the year. However, the weather condition plays significant role in trekking and tour in Nepal. Nepal Trekking Best Time of the year is between September – mid of November. But, those who love spring and flowering rhododendron, March and April is found rewarding, best time of the year for trekking in Nepal.

Between September and mid of Nov, the best time of the year because we have very mild temperature, no rainfall and environment is pleasant in the mountain. Similarly, mountain views are breathtaking.

Nepal Trekking Transportation/ Bus Service

Major cities like Pokhara, Chitwan, Nagarkot and Lumbini are connected with luxury tourist bus service. Pokhara is the beginning point of the Nepal Annapurna Trekking region. Chitwan is famous for Chotwan National Park and jungle safari. But what abour other trekking regions like Everest, Langtang and Manasalu Mustang and so on.

Kathmandu Syabrubesi Bus service is a local bus service. Or we can hire private jeep or van. There is no such luxury transportation, bus to Langtang region. And, even not domestic flight connects Langtang region. Like Annapurna region in Nepal is connected by domestic flight.

Everest Region trekking in Nepal is mostly connected by domestic flight. But still some classical people go with land transportation from Kathmandu to Jiri and begin their trekking to Lukla and Namche and then Everest Base Camp. Kathmanud directly connects Lukla with domestic flight.

Jomsom and Muktinath trekking is also connected by domestic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. The duration of Pokhara to Jomsom flight is only 25 minutes scenic flight beyond the Himalays in Nepal.

Nepal Trekking Altitude Sickness

Below 4000 m, we normally do not get altitude sickness. However, those who have weaker stamina drink and smoke a lot and if no enough hydration in the mountain may attack by altitude sickness in the mountain. But it is not 100% true.

To prevent from altitude sickness, we have to have plenty of water or hot drinks in the mountain. Do not east heavy food the threats our digestive system. Do not drink impure water which is not safe.

In case altitude sickness, do not try to go to higher elevation, better come down and take rest. If still problem, then try to call rescue through the company you make trip. First inform the guide or the trekking or tour leader and he will arrange all rescue from the mountain. For this your insurance must cover the payment.

Nepal Trekking Popular View Points

Nepal trekking has several astonishing viewpoints. Nagarkot, Chisapani, Chandragiri Hill, Shivapuri Hill ,Nagarjun Hill are popular vantage points to witness breathtaking mountain views to the north including Mt. Everest, the top of the world.

Similarly, Ghorepani, Poonhill, Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp and Sarangkot are popular viewpoints in Nepal Annapurna Region trekking.

Namche, Tengboche, Gokyo Ri, Kalapatthar and Everest Base Camp are popular viewpoints in Everest region.

Nepal Trekking Greeting

‘ Namaste’ is the most common and popular greeting in Nepal. ‘Namaste’ is similar to Good morning, good afternoon and good evening in English. We find the people greeting us by saying Namaste in the mountain. It is very humble and polite.

Nepal Trekking Clothing

We have to bring warm and woolen clothes for the trekking in the mountain. Sometimes, we have the temperature less that -10 c in the mountain. So, we have to prepare down jacket and sleeping back ourselves. Some companies provide sleeping bag and down jacket too but do not depend on them, bring your own.

We suggest you not to wear too tight clothing in the mountain. It is not digestible for the people of mountain. Normally, people of mountain are not open and globalised to fashion like Europeans and westerners.

Nepal Trekking Without Guide and Porter

We really do not recommend to trek in the mountain without guide and porter. It is mountain not the city. Anything can happen, and we may not get help in problem. We do not feel our trip safe without guide and porter in the mountain. Nepal Government is introducing a law that it doesn’t allow a traveler travel solo in the mountain.  Better book the trip thorough reliable company and take guide and porter with you.

Nepal Trekking Reviews

Nepal Trekking Reviews can be seen either on Google or on Trip advisor. Many trekkers who want to visit Nepal and do trekking in the mountain decide the best trekking trail after reading reviews on the particular trip.

Nepal Trekking Companies

We get number of trekking companies in Nepal. But all of them may not be reliable. Then how to find the reliability?

It is very easy. Go to see the team. Go to see the reviews on Google and on trip advisor. Go to see the outreach of the company. Go to see the social service and other activities. And one can consult with the trekkers who have already been in the trip operated by the same company. Otherwise, you will repent.

Final Say
