Trip Overview

In the far western part of the Tibetan plateau, there exists two miracles, Mount Kailash and Mansarovar. Mount Kailash Tour offers you astounding views of Kailash that is accessible after four days of scenic drive from Kathmandu. This drive takes you through the beautiful Tibetan plateau. In other ways, it can also be reached after a week of trek, starting from Simikot in Western Nepal.

If we choose to drive, we easily reach the exquisite region with the beautiful lake Mansarovar and stunning views of Mount Kailash along. The lake seems more attractive with swans floating on its surface. Both of the lake and the mountain have religious significance all dedicated to the legendary deity Lord Shiva. Followers of Hinduism and Buddhism have their religious tolerance to these natural structures.

Day 01 : Kathmandu (1,300m) – Lhasa (3,650m): or Arrival in Lhasa from China

Departure Transport to Tribhuban Airport and Trans – Himalayan flight to Tibet (Gongaar airport) (1hr.) Drive to Lhasa (1hr.) – Full rest for acclimatization – O/N at Hotel.

Day 02-03 : In Lhasa: Two Full Days Sightseeing Tour In Lhasa

After Breakfast at Hotel. We will Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery – O/N at Hotel.

Day 04 : Lhasa – Gyantse (3950m) -Shigatse

Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and high passes: Kora LA (5,010m) & Kamba La (4,794m) – Sight-seeing in Gyantse including Pholkor & Kumbum Monastery. PM: scenic drive to Xigatse(1.5hrs) through the typical Tibetan Countryside – Hotel.

Day 05 : Xigatse – Saga (4400m)

Visit Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. Continue journey to Xegar crossing over Gyatchula (a pass of 5,200m) – then drive Saga (4,600m) 280km. O/N at Tented Camp
